Possibly once more Century, or Madison, or PWU, or American World University :o but, who knows?

Any suggestion who is going to apply nowadays?

I believe that is the right moment for the elderly California State Approved Universities like Newport Univ., Pacific Western (30 years), California Pacific (30 years), Columbia Commonwealth (Wyoming-California; 30 years), and Century (New Mexico-California; 30 years) to be in motion to DETC.

Some of these institutions of higher education are the fathers of modern distance learning (The 70 era). As a result, if these Grandfathers would like to continue to exist in this era, (the accreditation movement is too powerful) they necessitate to be accredited.

One school I would like to see move that way is Fairfax University.

Fairfax did submit an application to the DETC, but it was rejected straight off because DETC would not evaluate a school whose programs were delivered entirely by individualized learning contract. I hope DETC will move closer to being able to assess such a school.

Good point - I agree.

Fairfax is an excellent example of a school that provides an excellent alternative of distance education. I came very close to enrolling with them as I was impressed with their methodology but they are not accredited. Perhaps they can modify their delivery a bit to work with the DETC. They would be a great addition to the DETC line up.

That is very interesting indeed. The next step for them would be to lose the unrecognized accreditation. Good catch, I wonder what is going on.

These changes seem weird and Unusual to me.

First, drop the Doctorates; second, drop the WAUC.

Probably they are preparing for something. Possibly, for the new JUS in Mississippi.

The WAUC (http://www.waucglobalaccreditation.org/universities.htm) still lists Madison U as one of their schools. Someone should let them know.

This is attention-grabbing, not simply Madison put down the WAUC, what's more, also St. Clement University leaves WAUC.

Negative publicity and the lack of reform within the association:o to prevent the causes of the negative publicity has lead to St Clements University finally leaving it.

I quite like St Clements. If they are successful in gaining accreditation from one or several African countries as they plan, they may become a worthwhile recommendation for a foreign degree.

So I see that Madison "University" is once again accredited by the WAUC. What's up with that?

Is a very estrange case.

This university is up dating very fast.

Drop doctorates = with this action, they lost big $$.

They buy a new building, which is great for Distance Learning Programs.

They have many faculty members with accredited degrees. One of them is an ADVOCATUS

The only reasonable motive for that (Accredited again by WAUC) is a legal contract that specified that they have to show the WAUC logo in the web page.

If my brain is not too elderly, I remember that Dr. Boyd sue the WAUC, to get out of the organization and to recover the annual fees.

Agreed. Madison would be better off with no accreditations than that WAUC.

Have you written the wrong name here, or is it 'tongue in cheek'?

I suggest that you do a little more research on 'St Clements'.

The last tome I commented I was threatened with a writ so my comments won't be made here.

Enough said? I'll leave the rest to you.

Fathers of modern distance education?

Please elaborate ...

They send me a promissing what looked like curriculum I needed. It was only like some 7 courses or so to get a B.A. with a price of some 2400 dollars upon completion. I send them my copies of transcripts and the like, but after talking about it with a co-worker and showing him the accreditation, he said that i'd be wasting my money. I agreed and never send them back an enrollment.
