The Latin American Faculty of Theological Studies (University) (www.flet.edu)offers the Associate of Arts in Biblical Studies, the Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies, the Master in Theological Studies, and the Master in Biblical Studies degrees to Spanish-speaking Christian leaders by means of distance education programs.

FLET is accredited by DETC. This is a wonderful ministry for the training of Spanish-speaking brothers and sisters around the world. The tuition is very reasonable.

I have been in communication with FLET for about two months now on various issues and topics. I find them easy to correspond with and eager to answer any and all questions.

The faculty has excellent academic credentials (Westminster, Luther Rice, Covenant, Denver, Dallas, Calvin, Trinity International, etc.).

The programs of study appear to be thorough.

I am now an M.A. in Theological Studies student of FLET. They are trying a new program of allowing some English-speaking students. I made the cut.

Jimmy,

I am wondering if you would post an update on how things are going with Universidad FLET.

Also, do you know if they have any future plans to offer any courses to north american students in english?

Thanks.

Hi mrbales,

The work is very challenging and going very well. I have slowed the pace the past few weeks due to having a touch of the flu but plan to pick it up in a few days. I am still on my first course but should be finished with it by the end of the month.

I don't know about their accepting any more N.A. students. I think they want to see how my enrollment pans out.

Jimmy,

(Hope you don't mind me addressing you so informally. I have read your posts here and on another board over the past year and have been impressed with your kind, unpretentious attitude and willingness to share what you have learned and experienced about distance learning with others).

I'm sorry to hear the flu bug got you and want to let you know that I appreciate your prompt reply. Will look forward to hearing more about Univ FLET as your work progresses.

You may address me any way you choose, ha! Thank you for the compliments. Sorry to say there was a time I was not so kind and unpretentious.

Iwill gladly share my FLET experiences as I progress.

Not a bad idea but I really don't have the time. I rarely if ever post on any of the boards anymore.

I have just basically reduced myself to answering questions posed of me or about theological schools.

I am about half way through with my first course. It has been intense, thorough, challenging, difficult, aggravating, and stimulating.

So far I have an "A" in the course. I have two book reports, a paper, a set of key theological questions to answer, and the final left to do.

What I'd really be interested in learning about is your Foley-Belsaw Institute of Locksmithing program.

Perhaps this should be moved to another thread.

I haven't received any lessons yet. I should within the next week or so. I decided to enroll in this course for a number of reasons. I can finish within six months, I get a top-of-the-line key machine, I get all sorts of locksmithing tools, and I will have something to do in retirement to make some extra money.

Also, I can make some extra money even before retirement. I cannot tell you how many times I have been in places of business or in parking lots and have seen people locked out of their cars.

What a quick way to make an extra $25-$50 on the spot! When I get the first set of lessons I will post on a more appropriate thread.

Well, I now have one book to read, a paper, a unit exam, and a final to take and I will be finished with my first course.

I have learned quite a bit and look forward to "unlocking the challenges" of my next course.

Received grade from latest assignments: "A." So far I have a solid "A" average.

I should be completed this course within 30 days or so. The paper will take some time.

Jimmy- with all the training and preaching you've done it should be aseasy as falling off a log.

Should be but the theology is a little different from what I am used to. But, I am learning quite a bit and having fun with it.

Well, I am now down to a paper and a final proctored exam and I will have one course completed. I am in hopes I can complete two more courses by the end of the year.

I have submitted my course paper. I compared the teachings of the Bible regarding the Trinity with the teachings of the Jehovah's Witnesses.

I will have a final protored exam and I will have one course behind me. I hope to finish one or two more by the end of the year.

About that locksmithing :D

My dad retired from two different careers and moved to Ark where he bought a locksmithing shop. He took the Foley course and had a very successful career until he died.

Everytime I see your name on any forum -- I think of him. Not a lot of good memories, but that is one, so thanks!

You're welcome. Sounds like we have few things in common. I don't very many good memories of my father either. But, the locksmith training I received from him is one good memory I do have. Take care!
