I have been doing some research into MBA programs and I have found an interesting relationship between Columbia Southern University in Orange Beach, Alabama, a DETC School and the University of North Alabama, an RA School.

Their affiliation allows the best of both worlds. You can complete an MBA at Columbia Southern in 36 hours, at the rate of $172.00 per credit hour which is quite competitive. An MBA at the University of North Alabama can be completed in just 33 hours at the rate of $300.00 per credit hour, which is considerably lower in price than other RA programs. Both programs are online.

While Columbia Southern University has some a tuition payment plan, the University of North Alabama is eligible for Federal Student Aid Loans. Their code for FAFSA is 001016, http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/.

I spoke with a representative at Columbia Southern this afternoon and she explained that since the University of North Alabama is new to distance education, they are processing applicants for both schools. Both universities do not require a thesis.

Now Columbia Southern does not require the GMAT or GRE, but the University of North Alabama does, unless your GPA is above 3.5. They will however accept you provisionally with a GPA above 3.0, and if you complete the first 9 semester hours above a 3.0, you will be removed from provisional status.
