It is with great displeasure to announce our Moderator "J" has decided to retire from Degreeboard and Distance Learning fora due to issues in his personal life.

"J" has been a personal friend of mine for years and this does not affect or have any thing to do with our friendship.

"J" was especially instrumental to me during our first few months and helping degreeboard get off the ground. Certainly no one here would be reading this message now on this website if it wasn't for him. He was part of the Liberal side of the balanced equation I try to keep at Degreeboard.

I and we wish "J" best of luck in his personal life and future achievements.

For the time being, we will not be looking to replace his moderator posistion although he did fill a European time slot that was valuable to us and we may consider someone in Europe if the right person was to come along.

Thanks all... :~(

Yes, sad day indeed and his contributions will be missed.
J was a fair and straightforward person who was always flexible and was willing to allow everyone to have his/her say. Even when he/she ( J ) disagreed with someone he/she was cordial and he/she always had a touch of humor.
I feel that J's contribution to the topics here at Degreeboard, both concerning distance learning and otherwise has been valuable and can be used as a reference.
I wish him/her ( J ) all the best in the future.

Best wishes to J. Let's hope whatever the personal issues are that they are ironed out smoothly and swiftly. Indeed J's contributions to the board and as a friend have been appreciated and will be missed.
