I read this article today and figured that I would share it. It mentions Kennedy Western, issues with fake diplomas, and some upcoming legislation in New York.

Joe morelle is on the state assembly's higher education committee. He's now drafting diploma mill legislation in New York. It would create a state list of accredited schools through the department of education and it would make it a crime for someone to represents they have a degree unless it's on the list. “Misrepresenting that they have a degree is very very serious particularly if you're talking about licensed professionals. What we hope is that people will recognize that there's a penalty and be less inclined to represent that they have a degree that they don't have, but also making a website available to the public will allow employers to quickly check the department of education's website," said Morrelle.

Let's hope he learns the lessons of Florida and Oregon before landing the state with more expensive lawsuits.
