I wonder how distance medical students have done. Has anyone from St. Lukes found rotations in the US and has anyone actually been licensed in the US?

It would be interesting to see if the classroom portion of medicine can be successfully done by distance education.

The signature looks similar to the Saint Regis document.

Based on my sources this may be legitimate. Only time will tell. I still don't think they should be recognized though... Distance learning for Medical School?

I believe it can be done, in the same way as the Caribbean med schools who offer intensive theory instruction for the pre-clinical stage and then allow the successful candidate to proceed to internship in a hospital in their home country or in the USA.

Anatomy, physiology and related disciplines can certainly be taught by DL, especially if interactive learning is used.

It bothers me because I have seen transcripts and degree's from this school, and for at least this student they let alot of c's and d's count for credit. I tell you one thing, I wouldn't want this person operating on me.

Do the words botched vasectomy come to mind?

I think that the classroom part can could be done by DL. Other than anatomy, it's just massive amounts of memorization. Mind you, you miss the entertainment that you can have with cadavers, if some of the stories are true.

Ah - you must be thinking of http://www.thehumorarchives.com/humor/0000578.html

Kashima University has expelled four medical students for pelting other students with human brains.

School officials say the three men and one woman were dissecting cadavers in the science laboratory when one of the males removed part of a cerebral cortex from a corpse's skull and threw it at one of the other medical students.

Within minutes a "brain fight" had broken out.

The students then reportedly opened the windows of the second-floor lab and began throwing the brains down on unwitting passersby on the street below. One girl was hit in the face and required treatment at the university's emergency room.
