I can confirm that an announcement was made on CalSouthern’s INTRANET website. Since they have not dropped the PsyD, then I guess DETC gave the OK.

I suspect Trinity College of the Bible and Seminary is applying somewhere, maybe DETC because they've trimmed their doctorates down to a DMin. Their website doesn't seem to have the DRS, DA, or PhD. I don't see NationsUniversity yet like the rumors say. Maybe they still have to work out a lot of bugs. There's no sense applying if there's still work to do. |

Is it a pilot project? I thought the PsyD was clearly within the existing mandate of DETC.

Their name is to close to the University of Southern CA I wander why?
Also in the short abbreviation they are going to join the CSU company :-) CA State University, Colorado State University, etc. How many CSU out there? |

Ownership of the CSU name
Education Code section 89005.5 provides that the name "California State University," and the names of all of the CSU campuses, nicknames and abbreviations belong to the State of California. Examples of the CSU name include Cal State, California State University Stanislaus, CSUS, San Diego State University, San Diego State, SFSU, Cal Poly, Sonoma State University, Sonoma State, the California Maritime Academy, Cal Maritime, CSU, and so on. |

True for CSU (SCUps) but CCU did have a PsyD program in place at one time; I wonder if they could just blow the dust off of it and start it up again?

The Distance Education and Training Council Accrediting Commission (DETC) is a National Career-related Accrediting Organization. The California Board of Psychology would accept a degree in psychology from an educational institution that is accredited by the DETC.
