DegreeBoard: About UsFounded in 2004 DegreeBoard was created to fill a void: an open and honest forum to discuss all things regarding higher education with a particular emphasis on distance learning. Yes, there are other sites which have educational forums but are restricted or have an agenda. In 2008 it was decided to expand DegreeBoard's offerings, including a new blog, articles which may be of interest to those seeking distance learning, and recommendations of institutions of higher learning for specific interests. However, especially of import to those of you have been regular visitors of the forum, the free and open discussion will continue in the spirit which inspired its founding. The DegreeBoard blog challenges readers to examine the latest issues in distance learning and in university education. The writers are constantly scouring the news to find interesting, informative topics that directly impact your experience with distance education degree programs as well as traditional college degree programs. These topics range from new distance degrees being offered by top online colleges, to new policies and bills introduced in Congress that directly impact the futures of online degree universities. News events concerning colleges and universities in other countries are presented as well, because they are often very relevant to new educational policies and practices in the United States. DegreeBoard is committed to reviewing issues that arise in distance learning degree programs as fairly and objectively as possible. If you have an issue that is of great concern to you, share it with our readers, or suggest the topic as a future post to DegreeBoard’s writers. Tell us what most interests you, and what we can do to help you achieve your career and educational goals! Write back and share your joys and frustrations about online degree programs. If you have a different perspective, or different information to share about the topics that we present, register at the blog and share them with us as a guest poster. We look forward to the learning and growth that everyone who stops by DegreeBoard can experience as a result of the sharing of these ideas and information. We want to know what you think! |
